All-Star Weekend is upon us!
And while not all of us are into basketball, we're ALL into celebs. The city will be teaming with way more celebs than those mentioned below, but if you want a sure-bet on spying some famous faces check these out:
Canada has received its first pair of new F-35 fighter jets, with Ottawa still deliberating on how many of the American planes it will buy.
The Royal Canadian Air Force announced receiving the two Lockheed Martin jets Friday on social media with a photo from Phoenix showing one plane with a maple-leaf roundel.
The air force could not immediately say when it will start training pilots with the new planes, which U.S. Ambassador Pete Hoekstra recently hailed as "the best fighter in the world."
Prime Minister Mark Carney has paused plans to proceed with a planned order for 88 of these stealth fighter jets, and it may instead have a mixed fleet that includes Gripen jets made by Saab.
Carney launched a review of the purchase amid U.S. President Donald Trump's repeated trade and annexation threats, and the review was supposed to have concluded a year ago.
Last year, Trump mused about providing allies with jets that have limited capabilities in order to maintain American supremacy, and former foreign minister Lloyd Axworthy warns in a Saturday blog post that Washington controls software used by F-35 jets.

Juste à temps pour boucler le mois. 🍂

First Nations leaders are gathering with Prime Minister Mark Carney and the country's premiers in Ottawa today for a ceremony ahead of a historic meeting on Monday.
Monday's meeting will the first such gathering since the Kelowna Accord talks of 2005, which brought premiers and then-prime minister Paul Martin together with Indigenous leaders to discuss ways to close the socioeconomic gaps in their communities.
First Nations will be represented in the closed-door meeting on Monday largely by regional chiefs from the Assembly of First Nations.
The Privy Council Office has not said which premiers will be attending the meeting, although Quebec Premier Paul St-Pierre Plamondon and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith have both said they will be absent.
The ceremonies will be held in Ottawa with knowledge keepers, elders, First Nations leaders and community members.
National Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak says it's important to start the meeting with ceremony to ensure all participants are entering with the right frame of mind, grounded in First Nations spirituality.
