21 Things Everyone Was Once Guilty Of Doing On MSN
If there's anything that could completely epitomize the late 90's and early 2000's, it's MSN messenger. Back then, we didn't have fancy iPhones or Android smartphones. Heck, even Blackberrys didn't come into prominence until later on in the decade. All we had were desktop computers, Model M-esque keyboards and a little green companion to help us fulfill our social needs.

And we wouldn't have had it any other way. Here are 21 things everyone was once guilty of doing on MSN:
Signing in and out to get your crush's attention.
Maybe even more than once.
Hitting "Space, Enter, Space, Enter, Space, Enter" whenever your parents walked in.
Perhaps the most important tactic during our MSN careers.
Taking screenshots of your friends while you're on webcam with them without them knowing.
And at their ugliest angles.
Copy and pasting entire conversations to expose a hater.
Nothing was ever sacred.
Keeping all past conversation histories as evidence in case you need them down the road.
You never knew when you needed to whip out the receipts on someone.
Sending stickers to your friends just to annoy them.
Especially the one with the cackling lady.
Abusing character map to jazz up your screen name.
"‘°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸YuNgBeEzY°º¤ø,¸¸,ø¤º°`°º¤ø,¸’ in da haus.
Using any colour other than black for your font colour.
And getting conversations mixed up when people had similar font colours.
Nudging someone repeatedly to get their attention.
But not too much because you might freeze your computer.
Allowing Windows Media Player to show what songs you were listening to so people knew you were up to date with music.
The "Show What I'm Listening To" setting was always enabled.
Putting your crush in a separate group of its own so you could easily keep track of him or her.
Very important.
Sending your friends your school assignments and discussing answers together.
Thanks to MSN, there were no such thing as individual assignments.
Asking a friend if a certain person was online so you could find out if you got blocked.
And then venting to the same friend you asked when you found out you were.
Pulling out the "Sorry that was my friend" to cover up a truth you immediately regretted revealing.
"I like you" ... "Sorry that was my friend"
Appearing offline to avoid talking to certain people.
All the time.
Challenging your friends to Minesweeper Flags all day, every day.
And getting them to play even though they had homework to do.
Using gtg, g2g, brb, ttyl and other ridiculous acronyms.
Because who has time to type out "got to go" in full?
Making plans with your friends in the messiest group conversations ever.
They were war zones.
Purposely waiting a couple of minutes before replying to your crush.
For some reason this made you feel like you had the upper hand.
Setting your status to "Busy" or "Away" even though you weren't.
It was a "cool" thing to do.
Using Caps Lock for theatrical effect.
Extra emphasis added if you used Caps Lock and sent one word at a time.
