On April 3, 2019, a group of around 50 young women turned their back on Trudeau as a way of showing him how they felt about his recent actions with the SNC Lavalin scandal. The incident took place in the House of Commons in Ottawa, where many women attended as part of the Daughter of the Vote.

So what is Daughters of the Vote? It is an event that invites a group of young women aged 18 to 23 and brings 338 women from all across Canada to the House of Commons in Ottawa. These women were able to represent every federal riding within the nation as they took their representative MP’s seat in Parliament.

Trudeau was one of the last people to speak at the House of Commons and when he did, it was not received with a warm welcome. However, Trudeau wasn’t the only one greeted with protest. According to Global News, dozens of people walked out of the House of Commons when Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer gave his speech.

Trudeau's not-so-warm welcoming was vastly different than others who spoke at the House of Commons during the April 3, 2019 meeting. NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh actually received a standing ovation from the crowd following his speech.

Since the incident, Trudeau has not posted anything about it publically on his social media platforms or addressed the situation.
