7 Hilarious Twitter Reactions To Friday The 13th In Canada
It may not be the last Friday of the decade, but it is the last Friday the 13th of the 2010s. Not only that, but there won't be another Friday the 13th until March 2020, and then not again until November 2020. It may not be an official holiday, but people are celebrating it in their own way.
If there are two things associated with Friday the 13th, they're bad luck, and Jason Voorhees, the hockey-masked serial killer from the Friday The 13th horror film franchise(well, not the first one; that was his mom).
Judging by all of the tweets from Canadians about Friday the 13th, it seems that the spirit of those two things is alive and well. Then again, they are closely related in some ways. After all, wouldn't running into Jason Voorhees be considered some pretty bad luck?
Despite the foreboding nature of the day itself (accompanied by an almost completely full moon, no less), Canadians seem to be in high spirits. They may also be cautious about running into any black cats or walking under any ladders.
We went to Twitter to find the best responses and celebrations of Friday the 13th, and we're happy to report that we didn't run into any hockey-masked murderers along the way.
This Is Actually Some Solid Advice
Only in Canada could you run into someone wearing a goalie mask that isn't planning on chasing you with a machete. They might just be on their way to a neighbourhood hockey game.
Sometimes You Just Can't Avoid Bad Luck
No matter how hard you try, there's sometimes just no way to avoid disaster, especially on a day when bad luck reigns supreme.
We Would Pay To See That In Theatres
This Canadian Dad has the right idea: If Jason can go to space, then why can't he go to the North Pole and take on Santa? It wouldn't even be the most ridiculous thing he's done.
One Person Is Celebrating The Day More Than Anyone Else
Who else's dance moves but Drake's could illustrate just how excited Jason Voorhees gets every Friday the 13th? Time to hunt down some campers!
Things To Avoid Today
Of all the things to avoid on this list, women named Karen seems like the least scary. That is, until one of them is asking for your manager with five minutes left in your shift.
Black Cats Are Bad Luck But They Are Cute
They say don't let a black cat cross your path, especially on Friday the 13th, but when they're this cute, it's pretty hard to resist. Isn't a bit of bad luck worth some head scratches?
The One Place You Need To Avoid
Sure, you've got to avoid walking under ladders or crossing any black cats, but anything would be preferable to accidentally ending up at Camp Crystal Lake. Just don't do it!
Happy Friday the 13th to all, and to all a good night (Even you, Jason)!
