'95% Of Canadians' Is Trending On Twitter As Canadians Roast Andrew Scheer
With federal elections right around the corner, it seems that Canadian political leaders have been in the spotlight when it comes to Twitter attacks. For the past few months, Canadians have been using Twitter to express their opinions on the potential Canadian leaders, and they really don't hold back. On Saturday morning '95% of Canadians' was trending on Twitter, and Canadians were using it as an opportunity to rip Andrew Scheer apart.Â
As a political figure, Scheer has definitely been on the brunt end of some hate. Like everyone who brings themselves into the political spotlight, Canadians have found their way to share their negative thoughts on the leader.Â
"95% of Canadians" started to trend earlier Saturday morning after a video was released of Andrew Scheer reportedly discussing Canadian Healthcare.Â
Twitter user, G.T. Lem posted a video captioned "Andrew Scheer SLAMS THE DOOR on a National Pharmacare program saying "95% of Canadians" already have a drug plan."Â
While the video does not show the exact question that Scheer is being asked, he has spoken up about the Liberals National Pharmacare plan in the past, stating clearly that he is against such a program.Â
In the video, Scheer is reportedly heard saying that 95 percent of Canadians have access to Pharmacare, and it is not something that needs to be heavily invested in.Â
While it is not clear whether Scheer was directly linking the 95% statistic back to Pharmacare in Canada since viewers cannot hear the question that he is asked, many are quick to point out that he is wrong.Â
According to Statistics Canada 1 in 5 Canadians are struggling to pay for their prescription medications each year.
One Twitter user even went as far as to say, "There is no way on earth that 95% of Canadians have drug plans... Yet again Andrew Scheer is LYING to Canadians."
However, while some Canadians are calling these facts false, a majority of Canadians are using this Twitter trend to roast Scheer regardless of the issue related to the trend.Â
One user went as far as to state, "95% of Canadians think @AndrewScheer is a piece of trash."Â
However, Scheer isn't the only one who has been facing hate from Canadians through Twitter trends.Â
Earlier this summer, Justin Trudeau was hit with hundreds of negative tweets after #TrudeauMustGo was trending on Twitter during the SNC-Laviln Affair.Â
