A Major Beer Recall Has Just Been Announced In These Two Provinces For A Very Scary Reason
Having a beer at this time of year is a great way to relax at the end of the summer that you wish wouldn’t end.
Unfortunately for some beer drinkers in Canada, the cans they’re drinking from could actually cause them serious injuries and is being recalled by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
It isn’t the beer itself that could injure people, but the can it comes in.
The CFIA is currently recalling beer from Bowen Island Brewing because the cans that it comes in could have sharp metal spikes sticking out of the rim.
The recall affects Bowen Island’s Artisan IPA and West Coast Lager brands, which are sold in six-packs in Alberta and British Columbia.
According to the CFIA the Artisan IPA cans that are affected have codes starting with L18207, L18187, or L18215 and the West Coast Lager cans have codes that begin with L18207.
The B.C. Liquor Distribution Branch has told stores, restaurant’s and other hospitality establishments that stock the affected beer to remove it from their shelves.
The CFIA is telling anyone who has one of the beers affected by the recall to either throw it away or to return it to where they bought it.
So far there have been no reports of any injuries from the beer.
