A 'Super Lab' Has Been Discovered In A Small Town In BC & It's Hidden Behind Some Trees

The investigation is ongoing.

A drug "super lab" has been found in a small town in B.C., and there's an ongoing investigation into it.

The lab was found in a rural area, in Abbotsford, B.C., and the B.C. RCMP Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response (CLEAR) team has been there since January 14.

On the RCMP website, CLEAR's purpose is described as targeting "organized crime groups involved in the illicit production of any synthetic drug."

It added that they also investigate "the diversion of chemicals or equipment intended to be used to manufacture illicit drugs."

Sgt. Kris Clark, who is a media officer from Federal Serious and Organized Crime, said that they are planning to continue the investigation in the area in the upcoming days, according to The Abbotsford News.

CLEAR vehicles have been seen on a property, which is set back from the road within a forest.

As of right now, there is no information released as to what kind of drugs could have been made in the lab. The Abbotsford News referred to the lab as a "superlab," which means it is a "large-scale, highly organized lab."

The RCMP website said that there are some signs that you can look at, to tell if there might be a drug lab on a property.

There is often an "excessive amount of chemical containers at a location, laboratory equipment and unusual chemicals, and odours often described as strong solvents, ammonia-like, pungent or a sweet fragrance," it said.

It also said that these labs have been found in both urban and rural areas — including in apartments and homes.
