A Vehicle Was Involved In 8 Separate Collisions In Mississauga & The Driver Fled On Foot
The driver was taken into custody.
Typically, when a driver hits a car, they go to a halt, but apparently, on some occasions, getting into eight separate collisions isn't enough reason to stop.
On April 26, Peel Regional Police (PRP) responded to a call that involved multiple collisions in many locations.
In a series of tweets posted on Tuesday at 12:14 p.m., PRP reported on the incident, saying that the collisions started on the QEW at Hurontario Street in Mississauga and ended all the way at Burnhamthorpe Road.
All eight separate collisions involved one vehicle with one male driver, according to police. Wow, how bad did the car look exactly? And how did it keep going?
Just when you thought the car would break down at that point and police would be able to catch the person in charge, the driver had other ideas in mind. He apparently got out of the vehicle and fled on foot after the last collision on Hurontario Street and Burnhamthorpe Road.
Reportedly, one person was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, and the officers caught the driver and placed him in custody.
After all this commotion, police announced some closures on the roads and were "expected to last for some time."
It looks like it's not unusual for drivers who get into multiple car collisions to flee on foot after the incident.
In January, a multiple car collision was reported on the Gardiner Expressway. Apparently, a reckless driver was speeding and cut off a vehicle that flipped over, causing other cars and a GO bus to get into an accident.
Police also said that the driver of the flipped car fled the scene and ran on foot, causing the police to look for them.
So, running from the scene seems to be a common theme, but it doesn't look like it ends well, so maybe stop doing it.
