Normally, Amazon Prime-Day is a one-day event where Amazon Prime members are rewarded for their loyalty with amazing deals on basically everything. The sale started at 3:00 P.M. but instead of great deals, shoppers were met with error messages because the website actually crashed.

Considering the fact that a Prime membership costs $79 a year, shoppers are totally upset. While there are many perks to a membership, like overnight shipping and streaming movies and TV shows online, a day dedicated to the fan base should be expected to run smoothly.

Since Amazon Prime launched in Canada back in 2013 the membership has grown over 80% each consecutive year, according to the Globe and Mail. It was also estimated that the company made $3.5 billion in Canadian online sales back in 2016.
If Amazon's business is booming in Canada, then why aren't they prepared for the influx of shoppers on their servers? Sadly, it can be chalked up to underestimating the power of social media, just like Build-A-Bear.
Canadians have taken to Twitter to share how unhappy they are with the company, considering their shopping special has now been put on hold by a crashing website.
I see... Once again Amazon canada died on prime day... Guess I'll never get to see any deal after all
Amazon Canada site is down and had been for the first 56 mins of Prime Day. I guess I didn’t need anything anyway. Well done Amazon. Well done.

It's safe to say that if you're looking for great Amazon deals, it may be worth it to hold off shopping until later in the evening. Luckily for Prime Members, this deal will last for 36 hours so you can shop until 3:00 A.M. on July 18.
Here's hoping the website can last that long!
