These 4 Salads Are Being Recalled Across Canada For Urgent E-Coli Threat
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a food recall statement on Saturday morning, warning Canadians that Bonduelle brand salad products may be unsafe due to E. coli risks. According to the Bonduelle brand salad recall, the potentially dangerous products could have been sold throughout Canada.
According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, anyone who has the potentially affected salad products should not consume them, and should throw them out immediately.
The “unsafe” products are known to have been sold in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick, but they may have been distributed in other provinces or territories.
CFIA’s report explains that food contaminated with E. coli may not look or smell spoiled but that doesn't mean that it can't make you very sick.
Symptoms of E-coli poisoning can include fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
CFIA reports, “In severe cases of illness, some people may have seizures or strokes, need blood transfusions and kidney dialysis or live with permanent kidney damage.”
If you think you may have become sick from an affected food product, Health Canada recommends that you contact your doctor immediately.
CFIA is cautioning customers who may have recently purchased affected items to look out for the following UPC codes with the following products.
-
Bonduelle Caesar Salad with Chicken and Bacon (174g) UPC: 0 77745 27111 8

Thankfully, no illnesses have been reported in Canada as a direct result of the recall so far.
CFIA confirmed in their report that Bonduelle brand salad recall was triggered by a recall in another country.
