You Can Wander Through A Magical Curtain Of Twinkling Lights In Calgary Next Week
In the Christmas-time craze to cram in all things magical for the holidays, our wallets always inevitably end up taking a hit. Of course, shelling out $20 or $30 to get a chance to enter a magical winter wonderland is often totally worth it — but sometimes we want to do free stuff so we have more money to spend on gifts. Calgary's free holiday light curtain is coming back next week and it's a can't miss.
Bankers Hall in Calgary will be unveiling its iconic curtain of holiday lights on Monday, December 2.
Inside their massive atrium, a veil of twinkling lights will unfurl to create the most majestic holiday scene.
If you're looking for more free stuff to do for the holidays, then you should lace up because Calgary's Olympic Oval skating rink is open again.
Plus, it's not exactly free since you'll have to pay for gas, but you can always hit the road for a mini-road trip to check out some of Alberta's cutest towns.
Still, Bankers Hall's incredible curtain of lights is top of our list of free things to do in Calgary around the holidays because we can finish up our Christmas shopping while we enjoy the lights.
It's also completely indoors so we can wander around and take pictures amongst the lights without wearing our parkas.
Every Calgarian has to snap at least a few photos of the lights this season — it's basically a tradition at this point.
This unique holiday light set up is so trippy. It reminds us of Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirrors room and the effect is perfect for taking photos.
Even the giant Christmas tree is dwarfed by the majesty of the curtain of lights.
If you want to experience all the magic of the holidays in Calgary, then find some time to check out Bankers Hall's light curtain after it's unveiled on Monday, December 2.
