The Number Of Celebrities Who Have Been Banned From Canada Is Actually Insane

The border can be a stressful place.

The process of crossing into another country is probably the dullest part of any trip. Whether it's going through customs at an airport or having your car searched at the border, it's hardly ever a fun experience. For some, it's even a horror show. Not having the right documentation, criminal past or even just a random search can have your trip cancelled in a matter of minutes. Celebrities banned from Canada aren't who you'd expect.

While celebs may get a bunch of perks because of their high profile, getting to cross the border without being in the right standing isn't one of them. Celebs having to cancel appearances or performances because of border troubles is actually pretty common.

In Canada, while being turned down at the border doesn't mean you're banned for life, the country's immigration website has all the info celebs need to make sure they can cross into Canada without a problem! The website lets celebs know that "...like the rest of us, celebrities have to go through the proper immigration processes if they want to spend time in Canada."

This list has celebs who definitely weren't aware of Canadian border procedures before hopping on a plane and ran into some problems.

50 Cent

"I don't think people in Toronto or any urban center need or want to hear Mr. Jackson's message right now" is what a Toronto MP said after this rap artist was denied entry into Canada in 2005. His lyrics that promoted gun violence and extensive criminal record kept this celeb across the border.

Chris Brown

It's well known that Chris Brown has gotten into a lot of trouble with the law since he rose to fame. Because of charges laid against him in the past, this artist had to cancel shows in Montreal and Toronto back in 2015 after being held at the border.

Martha Stewart

Because of her crimes involving the stock market back in the early 2000s, Martha Stewart was denied entry into Canada in 2005. She even went to prison for 5 months!

Wes Bentley

This actor was looking to get away to Toronto to attend TIFF back in 2012 when he was refused at the border. Back in 2008, he was caught with drugs. Now clean, Wes Bentley has opened up about his addiction to heroin.

Russel Brand

There's a bit of controversy surrounding Russel Brand's case. In 2011 the comedian was scheduled for a performance at Casino Rama but announced that he wasn't able to cross over into Canada. Casino Rama later denied the claim and said that he was unwilling to fly to an airport that had an international border, instead of flying directly into Orillia, Ontario.

Lil Wayne

Like a lot of people on this list, Lil Wayne was denied entry back in 2011 for charges relating to weapons and drugs. He was warned before organizing his tour, but still had to cancel all Canadian dates.

Stormy Daniels

Stormy Daniels is the most recent celeb who was denied entry to Canada. She was set to appear at a convention in Niagara Falls back in June but had to cancel her appearance after being denied entry at the border. It was never released why exactly she wasn't allowed to cross.

Lindsay Lohan

Lohan was scheduled for an appearance at TIFF back in 2015 to promote her newest movie but was denied entry. Her past convictions with drugs, DUIs, and theft are more than likely what prevented her appearance on the red carpet.

G-Eazy

G-Eazy was denied entry just last year right before his scheduled performance at the Cowboys Music Festival. Just a few months before, the artist had been arrested for carrying cocaine and getting physical with nightclub security guards in Sweden.
