Someone Attacked Dave Chappelle On Stage & Chris Rock Was There With The Perfect Reaction

The guy was arrested and charged.

Dave Chappelle was attacked during a comedy set at the Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday night, when an audience member stormed the stage and appeared to tackle the comedian.

Videos recorded at the Netflix is a Joke comedy festival show security guards chasing the suspect around the stage after the tackle. Chappelle seemed to escape the attack unharmed, and he eventually regained his composure and made some jokes about the attack.

"That was a trans man," said Chappelle. The joke was a nod to his controversial Netflix special, which critics have said was transphobic. However, it's unclear if what he said was true.

Chapelle then briefly left the stage and came back to claim that he "stomped" the suspect behind the scenes. "Always wanted to do that," he said.

Chris Rock happened to be at the same show for a performance, and he definitely had something to say after seeing another comedian attacked on stage. Rock hasn't said much about the time Will Smith slapped him at the Oscars, but he couldn't resist on Tuesday night.

"Was that Will Smith?" he asked.

Isaiah Lee, 23, has since been arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the incident, the LAPD told Fox News.

The LAPD told CNN affiliate KABC that the attack could have been much more severe because the assailant was armed with a fake gun that contained a knife.

A video clip shows the suspect being taken away from the venue on a stretcher after the attack, with his arm bent at an unusual angle and his face appearing to be injured.

It was not immediately clear why the assailant attacked Chappelle or exactly what injuries the comedian might've sustained.
