Disneyland Is Getting A Brand New Space-Inspired Park Entrance Next Year
Recent visitors to Disneyland may have seen construction underway. While there are various projects in the works, one will completely change one of the park's entrances. The Disneyland Tomorrowland entrance will feature massive, new space-inspired designs soon.
While the renovations won’t be completed until 2020, Disney released renderings that give fans an inside peek. These depictions of the entrance show elliptical-shaped planters with colorful bands of flowers.
According to Disney Parks, the new entrance will include wider pathways to improve guest access as well as massive Space Age-inspired architecture in recognition of Tomorrowland’s past. While aspects of the design are futuristic, they will also recall the classic 1955 and 1967 Tomorrowland entrances in optimistic depictions of innovation and technology.
Construction on the entrance will begin during the holiday season and will only last for a few months, which seems like a short time for so many changes to take place.
The Orange County Register reports that these changes are part of the Project Stardust initiative to ease traffic flow. Part of the project includes removing the famous ‘french fry rocks’ from the 1998 remodeling.
These changes come after some Disneyland fans claimed Tomorrowland was stuck in the past since it hasn’t had a major renovation in over twenty years. This part of the park includes many favorite classic rides, including Space Mountain and Autopia.
Here is the rendering of what Tomorrowland's new entrance will look like.

We’re happy to see Tomorrowland is getting some love and watch the park transform with fun new additions.
Guests visiting the park can also visit Star Wars Land’s new ride, Rise of the Resistance set to open January 2020. The wild ride will last for fifteen minutes through four different rider systems, all while being chased by Kylo Ren.
Next year, guests will also be able to live at Disneyland if they would like. Disney recently announced their plans for a twelve-story tall, 350 unit timeshare property. Prices start at $19,000 and do not include admission to Disney Parks.
The complex will appear next door to the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa as one of three company-owned hotels that offer timeshares.
