BC's Dr. Bonnie Henry Apologized For Her At-Home Haircut During Monday's Conference

And it looks great too.

The pandemic has got us all cooped indoors, and it seems B.C.'s provincial health officer is no exception. Dr. Bonnie Henry's new at-home haircut has turned heads after she admitted that she cut it herself and apologized to her hairdresser at a press conference. But she doesn't want you following in her footsteps and joked that it's the #1 mistake you can make in the pandemic.

In B.C.'s daily update on Tuesday, April 7, Henry solemnly delivered the latest news on the newest cases, updates on the state of the pandemic in the province, and encouraging words to fight on.

Then, cracking a small smile, she brought up her new haircut.

"My apologies to Lindsay, my hairdresser, but I did do some of my own tinkering with my own hair," she said during the official provincial conference.

"They say the number one thing not to do in a pandemic is your own hair, and I will say, believe them."

Thousands of locals tune into her broadcasts every day, and expectedly, Twitter immediately exploded at the mention of the news.

"Dr. Bonnie Henry doing her own hair during the #COVID19 pandemic is endearingly relatable," wrote one user.

After weeks of being locked indoors, self-made haircuts became the newest trend. Either out of boredom or necessity, so many people gave themselves questionable bangs.

But with all the barbershops closed, it's hard to keep fresh on your own. If you're in desperate need of a haircut, you can try doing it by yourself — but don't expect the freshest fade, if you know what I'm saying.

People suddenly found themselves with a lot more time on their hands these days, and strange hobbies made a huge resurgence. Twitter's been flooded with pictures of people baking bread for example, and bread tutorials are becoming the new craze.

Meanwhile, others are trying their best to do what they love, whether it's hanging out with friends on Zoom or organizing your entire orchestra to play hauntingly beautiful music for the internet.

All things considered, however, Henry's new hair isn't bad at all. I could see a promising future as a hairdresser after she's done saving lives and leading thousands through a pandemic.
