Dwayne Johnson's New Film Has An Open Casting Call In Canada & Here's How You Can Apply

These are paid positions.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's new movie will begin filming in Vancouver this spring and the production team has put out an open casting call for Canadians.

The open casting call is for three different roles and there is no acting experience required for any of them.

Kris & Kara Casting, a casting company based in Vancouver, shared the details of the casting call online and each one is a paid opportunity.

The casting call is for the A24 MMA biopic The Smashing Machine.

According to Variety, the film is based on the story of Mark Kerr, "the legendary MMA fighter from the no-holds-barred era of the UFC at the peak of his career."

Johnson will star as Kerr in the film and Emily Blunt is also in talks to star alongside Johnson as Kerr's wife, Dawn Staples.

Benny Safdie will be directing the film.

Ahead of its filming start date in May 2024, the production is looking to fill multiple positions.

The casting call says no prior acting experience is necessary and anyone who is cast will be paid as per the UBCP rates.

The shoot dates are currently scheduled between May 20 and the beginning of August 2024.

Depending on the role, filming will take place in Vancouver, the U.S. and Tokyo, Japan.

Anyone interested in applying is encouraged to do so as soon as possible.

Here's everything you need to know about the roles and how to apply to each one of them.
