Residents Of Erie Shore Have Been Forced Out Of Their Homes Due To Severe Flooding (VIDEO)

Hundreds of houses have been damaged.

What would you do if you only had one week to evacuate your town? Some Ontarians have had to do just that. According to The Weather Network, the Erie Shore Drive floods have forced residents out of their homes in Chatham-Kent.

Mark Robinson reported that Lake Erie's strong waves have been tearing away at the structures that protect the houses, causing floods in the past few weeks.

There are now concerns that the situation could get even worse, as the strong waves could cause dikes in the town to burst.

As a result, the road was officially shut down yesterday.

Residents were forced to flee, with only one week’s notice of the evacuation. Locals had to leave many personal belongings behind.

At this point, hundreds of homes have been damaged.

Now it’s a question not only of when but if they will be able to return home as the area will be shut down until at least April 27.
