There's A New Travel Restriction For Floridians & It Might Ruin Your Vacation Plans

Traveling just got a little harder for Floridians.

A public travel advisory was issued in Maryland urging residents not to travel to Florida, among several other states, because of high COVID-19 cases.

The advisory warns Maryland residents to avoid non-essential travel to states with a high positivity rate, including Florida, Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Nebraska, South Carolina, and Texas.

Visitors waiting for their test results should stay at home between the time of their test and their arrival in Maryland or to self-quarantine at their hotel.

The advisory includes a link to map of the U.S. by the CDC showing COVID-19 tests performed by the state, with Florida showing an 11 to 20% positivity rate out of 5,201,356 tests.

The advisory also encourages out-of-state visitors, including those from Florida, to get tested at least 72-hours before their trip, canceling if need be, as well as getting tested and quarantining upon arrival until they receive clear test results.

The Bahamas also issued a ban on all U.S. travel last week.
