Forbes Announced The World's Highest Paid Actors And A Canadian Took The #1 Spot

Oh, to be a millionaire.

When watching a movie or TV show, I always find my brain wandering to exactly how much money the actors on screen are getting paid for their work. Although this information is pretty readily available, I'm always shocked when I find out that they're sometimes bringing in millions of dollars for a single project. Forbes world's highest-paid actors list was topped by a Canadian.

Every year, Forbes releases a multitude of lists that reveal the highest-paid individual's in certain fields. For example, the world's highest-paid CEO is John Hammergreen of McKesson, who makes roughly $131.2 million a year, and the highest-paid athlete is soccer player Lionel Messi, who brings in $127 million.

On August 21, Forbes released their list of 2019's highest-paid actors, and I can only wish that I would make a tiny fraction of what these guys are bringing home every year. Coming in at number ten on the list is Will Smith, who earned $35 million in 2019.

Other big names on the list include Paul Rudd ($41 million), Chris Evans ($43.5 million), Adam Sandler and Bradley Cooper, who both brought in $57 million, Robert Downey Jr. ($66 million), and Chris Hemsworth ($76.4 million).

Out of the top ten, only one Canadian actor made the list, and he actually managed to snag the number one spot! The highest-paid actor of 2019 is none other than Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who made a whopping $89.4 million this year.

The Rock had a huge year in 2019, with Fighting with My Family, Hobbs & Shaw, and Jumanji: The Next Level all coming out. In 2020, fans of the actor can also expect to see him in Jungle Cruise.

Although we only had one Canadian representing us, it sure is awesome to see him take over the number one spot on such a prestigious list - we can only hope to see more Canadian faces next year!
