Here's Everything You Need To Know About Ontario's Biggest $250Million Drug Bust

A wall of cocaine.

The Ontario Provincial Police revealed details on what is now known as the province's largest drug bust, worth at approximately $250 million. Numerous blocks of cocaine were found encased in concrete and stacked in multiple columns about four to five feet high on a brick wall.

The amount of cocaine found in the wall totals 1062 kilograms, and the drugs were transported from Argentina in shipping containers which found its way over to the Port of Montreal for distribution in Ontario.

Currently there are three accused persons who are known to be involved in the huge drug bust and are being investigated. According to police, the cocaine was found in pure amounts and sealed in concrete rocks that were placed in the brick wall.

Police are happy to have the drugs off the streets as the quantities of cocaine would be separated further with cutting agents prior to sale, making way for dangerous fillers like fentanyl.

The source of where exactly the cocaine was produced is still unknown but the OPP believe there are ties to the Mexican drug cartel. The three suspects being charged were taken into custody back in May and July and are facing charges of importing and possessing a controlled substance and driving while disqualified.
