Here's How You Can Become A Member At One Of Toronto's Most Exclusive Clubs
Soho House was founded in London, in 1995 as a members' only club for the "creative types" in the innovative industries. These private houses are now located all around the world, from the UK to Berlin, New York, Miami, West Hollywood, Barcelona, Istanbul, Chicago and of course Toronto. With over 17 locations already established around the globe, Soho House has many more in the works for you to enjoy.
Toronto's Soho House is situated in the heart of the city on the corner of Adelaide and Simcoe, in a three-storey 1830's styled Georgian structure known as the Bishop’s Block. Now the golden question is, how do you get access to this exclusive club? As opposed to other members-only clubs around the world, Soho House aims to gather a creative community of designers, artists, writers, film makers, entrepreneurs, people from the media and advertising world, rather than individuals for their wealth and status. In order to become a member of this private club, you must fill out an application online, and submit contact information of proposers who are already existing members of the club for reference.
There are four types of membership up for grabs for Soho House internationally: Local House, Every House, Under 27 Local House, and Under 27 Every House. The titles of these memberships speak for themselves, The Local House will provide you will access to the Toronto House, where as the Every House membership will grant you entry to every Soho House around the world. What's your next question? Let me guess, "Is there a fee?" Who are you kidding, yes of course. The Toronto Club will cost you $1,200 per year if you choose the Local House Membership, or if you're a travel bug than you can pay $2,800 to get access to venues across the globe.
