You can grab your family, your friends or your SO and make a night out of it! If you're low on money because of all the holiday shopping, well this activity is priceless.
Make sure to grab a warm cup of hot chocolate, blast some Christmas music and have a night to remember. All you need is a car, a partner in crime and definitely some holiday spirit. Enjoy Ottawa! :)
1st Stop // Taffy Lane
Located in Orleans, Taffy Lane becomes the Whoville of Ottawa during the month of December. Each house is decked out in the most unreal holiday decorations, making you feel like a kid again. Grab those phones for Insta!
2nd Stop // St. Laurent Centre
If you're planning on doing some Christmas shopping, you won't be able to miss this amazing Christmas tree at St. Laurent Centre. Their holiday decorations are classy and beautiful.
3rd Stop // National Gallery of Canada
Starting at the beginning of December, the National Gallery of Canada will put up their 12 metre tall Christmas Tree for the holiday season. Don't miss it, as it will only be on display until January 9th!
4th Stop // Parliament Hill
Every year during the holidays, Parliament Hill has a light show called Christmas Lights Across Canada. It kicks off on December 7th, and has different light shows all the time. You won't want to miss any of them, as they are all so beautifully lit!
5th Stop // Confederation Park
Confederation Park is always lit with the most beautiful lights, however, this year the trees are said to be covered with red and white lights. Why? Because we're super close to celebrating Canada's 15oth birthday!
6th Stop // Rideau Canal
Whether you chose to skate or walk along the Canal, the holiday lights will make you feel like you're in a Christmas movie. It's a perfect place to take a date!
7th Stop // Bayshore Shopping Centre
Since the revamp, Bayshore Shopping Centre has had the most amazing holiday decorations. Steering away from the typical red and green theme, their white/blue Christmas theme is everything–so simple and magical.
8th Stop // Wesley Clover Parks
The best for last? Probably! This is the first year Wesley Clover Parks is hosting the Gift of Lights, which is a 2km long tunnel filled with beautiful lights. It starts on Friday, November 25th and goes until January 1st. This is something you need to experience this holiday season!
