Instagram Is Going To Let You Mute People Whose Posts You Don't Want To See

Finally!!

We all have that ONE friend who posts on Instagram ALL THE DAMN TIME but because we’re friends with them we can’t just unfollow them.

But now Instagram is coming up with a solution to the problem for everyone who is tired of seeing 5 posts in a row every single day from that friend.

The company is starting to give you the option to mute these people instead of having to unfollow them.

Instagram's new mute button lets you hide annoying accounts https://t.co/xMJxwQpEhH pic.twitter.com/0M5hoR0gfy

The idea here is that you’ll be able to stop seeing someone’s posts in your timeline while still being able to access their profile.

The person you mute will not be told that you’re doing it to them.

So no one will actually know if you aren’t actually seeing their posts in your newsfeed every day and you won’t have to awkwardly explain to them that you had to unfollow them because of their habits.

Some of you may already have the update while others will have to wait to get it. It is being rolled out across the photo sharing app over the upcoming weeks.

You don’t even have to completely mute someone’s content entirely if you still want to see some of what their up to on a regular basis.

You can choose to mute either their photos or their stories, but you will be able to keep the person’s stories appearing if you would like to.

So if you are someone who has a friend who posts 10 photos and 15 story updates a day this is something you may want to keep an eye out for.
