Instagram Still Hasn't Fixed Their Bug After Facing Backlash And People Are Getting Impatient
Instagram is under major fire today after users found that they mysteriously lost tons of followers on the app on Tuesday night. Users all over the world reported losing significant amounts of followers last night – some even lost as many as two million followers all at once. Instagram has now officially revealed why users lost millions of followers last night but it's been several hours and they have yet to fix the issue.

Last night, many users took to social media to question why they had lost significant amounts of followers out of nowhere. Famous makeup artist and YouTuber James Charles even spoke up on the issue and tweeted that he had lost over 500,000 followers. "Why did I just lose over half a million followers @instagram wyd sis," he tweeted.

After hours of speculation from users, Instagram finally addressed the issue. The company announced in a tweet earlier today that a bug was responsible for causing significant loss of followers for many, many users.
"We’re aware of an issue that is causing a change in account follower numbers for some people right now," read the tweet. "We’re working to resolve this as quickly as possible".
We’re aware of an issue that is causing a change in account follower numbers for some people right now. We’re working to resolve this as quickly as possible.
Instagram is being a bit mysterious about what specifically caused the major follower loss but has said that it is a bug and an issue on their end and not a permanent follower sweep.
However, it's been over seven hours since they said they were fixing it but the issue still hasn't been resolved. People are starting to get impatient and are calling out Instagram on social media.
Check out what they have had to say below.

Others are using the opportunity to call out Instagram for other issues they have with the platform. Many people are even saying that they're sick of the algorithm and asking them to bring back the chronological feed.
Take us back to the chronological feed days, I don’t need to see posts I’ve already liked from 2 days ago every time I open the app.
Thought this was just me... I see the same post over and over and still don’t see the rest of the people I follow.. ridiculous.. 🙄🙄🙄
Can you also bring back the chronological order while you're fixing this ?
While you’re at it fix the algorithm
FIX THE STORY VIEWING TOO PLEASE.
fix the viewer list on stories that go past 24 hours literally no one asked for that
Since their first tweet about the issue, Instagram has yet to comment on the backlash from users. Stay tuned for updates!
