Justin Bieber Just Broke Elvis Presley's Music Record
Justin Bieber’s Changes album has only been out for just over a week but is already breaking some major records. This marks his seventh album since he rose to fame back in 2008, but it also marks a huge milestone in his career when it comes to numbers. According to MTV, Bieber is officially the youngest artist to have released seven albums debuting at number one.
The record had not been broken since 26-year-old Elvis Presley gained the title back in 1961.
Now, at just 25-years-old, not only has Bieber surpassed the “King of Rock” but he’s had a total of nine albums debut on the Billboard charts.
Changes released on February 14, and according to Billboard has since tallied up the equivalent to 231,000 albums sold in the US alone.
The Stratford born celeb took to Twitter to express how “grateful” he was for his newest accomplishment.
Alongside breaking records, the artist also spent the weekend at Kanye West’s notorious Sunday Service. CTV reports that the “Yummy” singer took a turn at the ceremony’s mic to sing Marvin Sapp’s “Never Would Have Made It.”
The Changes launch came amid the airing of the singer’s YouTube series Seasons that has been exploring the artist’s healing process from drugs, alcohol, and his newly diagnosed Lyme disease.
It continues on to explore the singer getting back in the studio after halting his music production for four years.
Along with the new album, Bieber also announced an upcoming world tour that includes four Canadian dates. You can browse tickets for his shows here.
