Canadians Are Ripping Apart Justin Trudeau After He Said That Politicians Shouldn't Lie
Justin Trudeau has been under major fire lately – from the SNC Lavalin scandal to the new federal carbon tax that was met with criticism from many Canadians, kicking Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott out from the Liberal caucus, and more, there has been some controversy surrounding the prime minister as of late. Now, people have found another reason to call him out. Justin Trudeau is under backlash after a recent interview.
Justin Trudeau spoke to reporters earlier today on April 9 and answered a question about his planned lawsuit against Conservative opposition, Andrew Scheer.
The prime minister has threatened to sue the Conservative leader with a libel suit over Scheer's public statement about Trudeau regarding the SNC Lavalin scandal.
In response to the question, he replied to reporters today that politians should not be lying to Canadians. "I think it’s important that all politicians be straight with Canadians in how they characterize their own actions and their own beliefs," said Trudeau. "I think we’re going to have an election in the coming months. You can’t be inventing things, you can’t be lying to Canadians".
He also added, "I think highlighting that there are consequences... when politicians choose to twist the truth and distort reality for Canadians, it's not something we're going to put up with," according to a video of the interview posted on Twitter.

Many Canadians are unsatisfied with his reply. People have now taken to Twitter and Reddit to call out the prime minister in light of his words.
See what they had to say in response.
AMAZING that Trudeau said that about liars, as most Canadians now believe he's the one doing the lying.
That’s rich coming from Trudeau! He hasn’t told Canadians the truth about anything.
That's rich coming from someone who misleads Canadians on a daily basis. October is just around the corner so start looking for something else to do.
Really? THIS PM is talking about not lying to Canadians? This drama teacher is as dishonest as the day is long! 🤥😤
Another Ralph Wiggum level moment of brilliance from our PM. pic.twitter.com/MaMTBVZUmB
But, but Didn’t Justin say the Federal Liberals would balance the budget by 2019. Should taxpayers sue him for lying?
Trudeau should be taking his own advice.
One user wrote on Reddit Canada, "Is Trudeau talking about himself in the opening statement?" Another commented, "When you thought Justin couldn't be more stupid," and below their comment, a different Redditor wrote, "The lack of self-awareness is outstanding."

This marks the first time that the prime minister has spoken up publicly on the potential lawsuit against the Conservative Party leader. The threatened lawsuit was revealed to the public earlier this week on Sunday, April 7, by Andrew Scheer at a news conference.
