Drone warfare is evolving faster than armies can adapt, experts warn

Drone warfare evolves, forces NATO to adapt
THE CANADIAN PRESS/Stéphane Blais

It takes an average of just six weeks for opposing forces to develop a countermeasure to new technology deployed on the battlefield in Ukraine.

That rapid pace of innovation, driven by drones and robotics, is forcing NATO and its member countries to rethink how they acquire military equipment, while raising questions about whether international law can keep up with modern warfare.

Americans in Canada urge fellow expats to vote

American Democrats living in Canada are prepared to shout their political choices from the rooftops ahead of next month's midterm elections — while some of those who back Republican candidates seem leery of speaking out fearing a backlash from their neighbours.

Tammy Wilsker Mermelstein, a Texas voter who moved to the Greater Toronto Area last year, will be voting in a U.S. election from Canada for the first time.
