Mark Wahlberg Shouts Out ‘Frontline Heroes’ In Toronto For Delivering Wahlburgers Meals
Helping those in need! The past few months have seen dozens of celebrities donate and spread love to frontline workers, and Toronto firefighters recently got a shoutout from Mark Wahlberg. The tasty meals, sent from the downtown T.O. Wahlburgers location, were donated to hospitals and the homeless.
Earlier this week, the 48-year-old actor posted messages on his social media platforms to the "frontline heroes" who were responsible for helping deliver the hundreds of meals.
Writing to his 17 million fans on Facebook, Wahlberg shared, "Thank you so much to the first responders at Toronto Fire Services and the team at Wahlburgers for their hard work and assistance in delivering meals to homeless shelters and the #frontlineheroes at hospitals today!"
According to the official website, Wahlburgers has two locations in the city. One sits at 46 Blue Jays Way near the Rogers Centre, and the other is at Pearson International Airport in Terminal 1.
A Twitter post retweeted by the father of four shows Toronto firefighters in a series of photos holding boxes sent from the restaurant and loading up the back of a firetruck.
"Thank you #FrontLineHeroes at @Toronto_Fire and @TPFFA! #WhateverYouNeed @Wahlburgers @DonnieWahlberg #PaulWahlberg @CrescentCap," Wahlberg wrote in his retweet. The original post and photos were shared by CP24 reporter, Jee-Yun Lee.
The slogan #WhateverYouNeed can be seen in Wahlberg's posts and on the restaurant's sign.
Toronto isn't the only city getting love from the former rapper and singer.
Frontline workers in Florida, New Jersey, New York, and Los Angeles have also been receiving free meals from the burger chain and a big thanks on Twitter.
In a video message from Wahlberg addressed "to the whole Wahlburgers team out there," he said, "I just want to give a giant shoutout to the team members and the franchises of Wahlburgers who are doing their best to feed communities across the country."
He continued, "You are the lifeboat of the company and you're the frontline heroes who inspire me every single day from the bottom of my heart. Thank you, I love you, God bless you. Keep up the good work."
It seems the co-owner of Wahlburgers has a soft spot for Toronto, since he also owns a penthouse in the downtown core that he purchased back in 2011.
