McDonald’s Launches $1 Ice Cream In Canada & A Delicious New Cone In Select Provinces
Nothing tastes better than an ice cream cone on a hot summer day! That's why McDonald's Canada is bringing back its $1 cone promotion to celebrate the start of summer. McDonald's $1 ice cream in Canada officially kicks off tomorrow - Tuesday, June 4th, 2019.
This is the second year that McDonald's will be offering vanilla soft serve cones at a discounted price. Last summer, Canadians across the country got their first taste of $1 cones, and the results were are as sweet as the soft serve itself!
In the summer of 2018, Ladner, British Columbia broke records for the most cones sold in a single day with over 1,200 cones sold. On the other side of the country, Bathurst, New Brunswick (the birthplace of the McFlurry) had the most recorded cone sales for the entire year.
To celebrate the launch of the $1 plus tax cone promo, McDonald's released a press statement this morning that revealed the "Canadian Cone Capitals" of last summer - a.k.a. the cities that had the highest cone sales from May to August of 2018.
Bathurst, New Brunswick topped the list, followed by Regina, Saskatchewan; Laval, Quebec; Calgary, Alberta; Squamish, British Columbia; and Orleans, Ontario.
The promotion starts tomorrow and runs until Monday, September 2nd. McDonald's vanilla soft serve is the perfect summer treat that you can feel good about, especially since McDonald's cones are made with 100 percent Canadian dairy.
But that's not all: for a limited time, McDonald's locations in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba can enjoy vanilla soft serve in the new Chocolate Waffle Cone for just $2 plus tax.
The Chocolate Waffle Cone has been a popular treat in Australia and New Zealand, and is making its way into McDonald's locations all around the world!
