Meghan Markle's Dad Spilled 5 Major Secrets About Her And Prince Harry's Relationship
Thomas Markle, Meghan Markle's dad, spoke to Good Morning Britain yesterday in his first televised interview. He revealed everything we've always wanted to know about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's top-secret relationship - from their first date, to becoming the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Until now, the public didn't know much about the man who raised Meghan Markle. After his staged encounter with the paparazzi, nobody really knew what to make of him. But, from the interview, it's clear that Thomas is just like every other proud and loving dad, and is truly very happy for both of them.
Here are five major secrets that Thomas Markle revealed about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal romance.
1. How Meghan broke the news.

Thomas said that it took Meghan a few tries to finally work up the courage and tell him that she was dating Prince Harry.
"The first phone calls were, 'Dad I have a new boyfriend,' and I said, 'Well that's really nice,'" Thomas said. "The next calls were, 'Well, he's British,' and I said, 'Well, that's really nice,' and eventually the third time around was like, 'He's a Prince.'"
2. Meghan's secret nickname for Prince Harry.
Thomas said that his daughter's relationship was such a big secret that they referred to him by a nickname.
Meghan said to her father, "Of course, we'll have to call him 'H' so no one knows that we're talking about Harry." From the moment they became an item, Meghan asked her family and friends to refer to Harry as "H."
3. Thomas has never met his son-in-law in person.

Thomas told Good Morning Britain that he's never met Harry face to face, even when he asked for his daughter's hand in marriage. All of their conversations have been over the phone.
Thomas said that the first time he spoke to Harry was only a few months before they announced their engagement. But, Thomas says that Prince Harry is a "very nice guy, a gentleman, and very likeable."
4. Harry had to make a promise to Thomas before he gave them his blessing.
Prince Harry phoned Thomas before he even presented the engagement ring to Meghan, to formally ask permission to take Meghan's hand in marriage. Thomas said yes, but on one important condition.
“Harry asked for her hand over the phone and I said, ‘You’re a gentleman, promise me you’ll never raise your hand against my daughter and of course I will grant you my permission.'”
5. Meghan made her father use a different name.
In preparation for the wedding, before it was announced that Thomas would not be attending, Meghan made every single arrangement for her father, from hotel reservations in Beverly Hills to suit fittings.
But, Meghan made Thomas use a different name, to protect his privacy and to keep the media from finding out where he was.
