If you’re thinking of buying someone a birthday card in the near future, you may want to reconsider (and go for something a little quirkier instead). An Alberta-based company: TaterGrams Canada, gives you an alternative to those basic go-to greeting cards for something more unique...a potato. That’s right folks, the article title was not a typo.
You no longer have to rely on a paper card/e-card, to let someone know you’re thinking of them (well, I guess you could always tell them IRL, but that’s not always an option). Perhaps a better way to let someone know you care, is with a starchy tuber (I mean, people really do love their carbs).
You can order your potato on the website (many add-ons are also available i.e. glitter, googly-eyes etc.), and provide a message (130 characters and under) that you want written on the tater, and voila! Your friend/ loved one will receive their very own personalized spud.
It should be noted that the potato is not meant to be eaten. However--edible or not, I’m positive those on the receiving end of the TaterGrams, will certainly appreciate the creativity. It’s sure to generate a lot of “LOL” and “?” reactions.
