North Vancouver RCMP Has Shut Down Local High School After Bomb Threat

Staff have been evacuated as RCMP are still investigating.

This Monday morning, Bodwell High School located on Harbourside Drive in North Vancouver was evacuated due to a bomb threat.

While the RCMP are not sure whether it is a false alarm or not, they are currently investigating the situation.

Re: Bodwell School Bomb Threat: evacuation of school, school residence and some local businesses has been completed. Buses have been brought in to shelter those evacuated. A thorough search of the school is now in progress. Expect traffic delays and roadblocks in the area.

Police have closed down roads going in and out of the 900 block on Harbourside Drive. Some neighbouring business, such as the North Shore Automall, have also been closed off, according to staff.

Thankfully, students of Bodwell High School are currently on their Spring Break, so classes are not in session. However, there were some staff who did have to evacuate.

North Vancouver RCMP spokesman Richard De Jong said, “The heavy police presence is due to an alleged bomb threat made to the school. The school is not in session as they have spring break. The school residence, which is attached to the school, is being evacuated as a precaution. Buses are being brought in. Expect traffic delays."

More to come.
