Ontario Gas Prices Are Set To Rise Again & This Spot Will Be The Worst

You might want to avoid filling up in some cities.

If saving money on fuel was your 2022 New Year's resolution, definitely hit up your go-to station on Wednesday because Ontario gas prices are set to rise for Thursday.

Dan McTeague, gas price analyst and president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, took to Twitter to warn drivers of an incoming increase of one cent per litre for most areas on Thursday.

Areas that will see this hike include Toronto, Oakville, Oshawa and the Niagara region, seeing prices leap to 158.9 cents per litre.

However, while most major Ontario cities will only see a one-cent spike, there are a few notable exceptions to look out for and hopefully avoid if possible.

For example, hubs like London and Kingston will see prices shoot up by two cents, leaving them at the exact total as the other cities.

On the other hand, residents of Sudbury will be forced to pay a whopping total of 170.9 cents per litre after a 4 cent hike for Thursday.

When it comes to the cheapest spot to fill up, residents will want to head to Peterborough, where gas is expected to be 155.9 cents per litre.

McTeague previously warned drivers not to fill up their tanks until February 17 after gas prices reached new heights back in January. Ontario also previously broke a gas price record on January 29 after spiking to 152.9 cents per litre in the GTA.

If you're waiting for prices to drop before filling up again, it is currently unclear when that will happen.
