Ontario Is Reportedly Looking At Limiting Gathering Sizes & Updating Vaccine Rules

Premier Ford is set to give an update at 3:30.

The Ford administration is reportedly considering putting down even more public health measures in Ontario.

According to sources of CTV News Toronto, the provincial government is looking at potentially cutting down gathering sizes, shrinking capacity limits, as well as redefining what it means to be fully vaccinated in Ontario amid growing concerns of the highly transmissible Omicron variant and increasing daily cases.

Among the reported considerations includes trimming indoor gathering limits down to 10 people, instead of the 25 that are currently allowed under the present public health measures.

Capacity limits may also get sliced to accommodate only 25% in some spots, too. Ontario already announced earlier this week that starting December 18, places like concert venues, cinemas, and sporting events, will have their capacities cut down to accommodate only 50% of its usual seats.

On top of this, Ford is reportedly set to discuss changing the term fully vaccinated to include a third booster dose.

The Risks of Omicron Variant with Dr. Peter Juni youtu.be

Recently Ontario's COVID-19 Science Advisory Table dropped its latest projections of how the Omicron variant can take hold of the province if stricter additional measures aren't implemented soon.

Some of them recommended Ontarians cut down who they see regularly by 50%, as well as create third dose campaigns that could give out 250,000 doses per day.

The scientific director of Ontario's COVID-19 Science Advisory Table recently told Narcity in an interview, too, that Ontarians should "reconsider" their holiday plans this season.

"Meet with your closest friends or closest family, and postpone big family gatherings to this summer, full stop," Dr. Peter Juni advised.

Premier Ford is expected to provide an update to the province on December 17 at 3:30 p.m.
