One Of Ontario's Finest Police Dogs Has Died And Ontarians Are Mourning His Loss

Parker passed shortly after his retirement.

In heartbreaking news, one of Halton Regional Police's finest police dogs has just passed away and the entire province is mourning his loss. Parker was a police service dog who worked hard with the Halton Regional Police force for seven years. Parker had just retired last month before his passing.

Halton Police made their announcement of Parker's passing yesterday, giving their condolences to Parker's handler, as well as his best friend, Sgt. Tara Vivan. They stated that Parker was a loyal member of the Halton police force who was always ready to serve and protect his city.

After working on the force for a dedicated seven years, Parker recently retired from his job on April 21, less than three weeks ago. The police force wished for a long and well-deserved retirement for Parker, but it was something that just wasn't in the stars for the beloved furry police officer.

On the day of his retirement, the Halton Police Force called Parker 'the best partner ever' and were happy to see him enter his well-deserved retirement after fighting crime for the past seven years.

In the statement by the Halton Police that announces Parker's death, they state, "We are devastated to share that our universally loved PSD Parker has passed,".

Now, after the announcement of Parker's passing yesterday, the entire province is mourning his loss. Many Ontarians have reached out through Twitter to express their condolences for the hardworking canine. Other police forces have even reached out to express their sympathy.

Parker was actually named in honour of Oakville's Colonel Geoff Parker who was one of the highest-ranking officers to be killed in Afganistan.
