Parts Of Ontario Will Get 20 cm Of Snow This Week Because Spring Is A Joke
As the end of April draws nearer, it seems that Mother Nature still isn't ready to give us that warm spring weather. According to Ontario's weather forecast, parts of the province are expected to see strong winds and up to 20 centimetres of snow this week. So make sure to grab your winter boots and scarfs, because winter isn't done with us just yet.
According to The Weather Network, parts of northern Ontario are expected to get between 15 to 20 centimetres of snow, while southern Ontario will be hit with rain and wet snow throughout Tuesday. The areas just northeast of Fort Hope will be getting the most snow, while areas near Fort Albany have also been projected to get up to 15 centimetres, according to Environment Canada. Southern Ontario will also be getting a blast of winter over the next few days.
TWN predicts colder than seasonal average temperatures as well as rounds of precipitation. Ottawa and those situated on the shores of Lake Huron can expect snow accumulation, while the GTA will get a mix of rain and snow, but no buildup.
Flurries are highly likely throughout the next few days, so don't switch out your winter coats just yet.
It looks like the clear skies we are seeing this Monday will not be around for long. The cold front will come in overnight and will cause some terrible Tuesday and Wednesday weather, TWN predicts. It will start off with showers and then turn into snow when the temperatures get cold enough. Areas north of the GTA should expect some minor snow accumulation after the rain.

The areas of Kingston, Ottawa and Cornwall could get five to 10 millimetres of rain from Monday night into Tuesday. The same goes for Niagara Falls and Goderich, while Toronto can only expect two to five millimetres. Parts of Ontario can also expect to see winds as high as 70 kilometres per hour as the storm moves through on Tuesday.

Luckily, it does look like there is some sunshine in the forecast. According to Toronto's 14-day forecast, Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high of 11 C.
Just last week, the province was battered by a fist-sized hail storm. Footage shows chunks of it covering backyards and patios in southwestern Ontario and it looked menacing.
That wasn't the only outcome of the early April storm season, though. Powerful winds caused flooding and widespread power outages off of Lake Erie last Monday.
Thankfully, there's some light at the end of the tunnel, at least in the Toronto area. The city has several double-digit weather days and even some sunshine to look forward to by the end of this week.
