Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Look Happier Than Ever On Their Trip To Thank Canada (PHOTOS)
While some people choose to hop on a plane and jet off somewhere warm for the holidays, others prefer to brave the cold and enjoy a white Christmas, and celebrities are no exception. Most recently, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Canada visit allowed the duo to spend some time relaxing in our beautiful country.
Before she married into the royal family, Markle spent her fair share of time in Canada and even lived in Toronto for some time while she was filming Suits.
Now that she's a wife, mother, and royal figure, the former actress spends most of her time across the pond, but because Canada is a Commonwealth country, she and her little family still make it a point to visit every now and then.
2019 was a rough year on the former Suits star. She may have given birth to a beautiful baby boy, but she also faced near-constant bullying and criticism from the British tabloids, adding an extra layer of stress to her and Prince Harry's life.
As horrible as the drama was, it persuaded the royal couple to spend their holiday season in Canada, which is very good news for those of us overseas who love the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
During their stay, Markle and Prince Harry spent some time with the retired actresses' best friend, Jessica Mulroney in Toronto. They also headed out to beautiful British Columbia, where they even interacted with some locals.
Now that their six-week vacation is over, the Duke and Duchess are back to work in London, and their first stop was at Canada House, where they reflected on how amazing their trip was.
The above video was posted to the official Sussex Royal Instagram page today of the duo chatting with High Commissioner Janice Charette and thanking her for Canada's warm hospitality during their stay in the country.
"The Duke and Duchess have a strong connection to Canada. It’s a country The Duke of Sussex has visited many times over the years and it was also home to The Duchess for seven years before she became a member of The Royal Family," the IG caption reads.
