Probably The Best Places To Go Salsa Dancing In Toronto

The great thing about living in Toronto is that there are so many cultures to see and explore. And what better way to get to know your Latin neighbour then collecting your crew on Friday night and getting your spicy salsa on (I'm not talking the nacho kind). And if you try to pull that 'I can't dance' mumbo jumbo, there are plenty of beginners and most of the Latin clubs provide lessons before opening up the floor. Even if you mess up a couple of steps, you're still gonna have fun, and there is no going wrong with fun. Bailamos!
1. Lula Lounge
You cannot miss the Lula Lounge sign on Dundas, they seriously went all out with lights. It's a great place to listen to live Latin bands of Toronto who really know how to get the party started. They usually offer beginner salsa lessons on Friday nights. After the lesson, the dance floor opens up to everyone and the real party starts. Ladies free before 10pm!
2. El Rancho
If you're looking to practice your bachata, cha cha, merengue or salsa, El Rancho has a dance crowd that would seriously help step up your game. Lets just say its not their first time at this rodeo. There are also salsa lessons available on some nights. El Rancho has a separate restaurant area for private dinners and a dance floor for more intimate moments. There are tons of singles too to help you start your dancing career. Drinks are reasonably priced and the people are super friendly.

3. Fregata Lounge & Restaurant
1900 Dundas St. East, Mississauga
Though my city girl side insists on staying in downtown, this gem of a place for salsa in Mississauga is just to good to pass up. Its been open for over 19 years and is poppin with Latin vibes on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Its the place where you can gaze into your special someone's eyes while enjoying a candle lit dinner and still party it up and show off your moves.
4. Valdez
I know what you're gonna say, thats a restaurant. Yes, yes it is. Valdez is owned by chef Steve Gonzalez, the former chef de cuisine at Origin and the class clown of Top Chef Canada’s first season. They have an adobe pork dish that requires 48-hours notice and feeds eight, I know, now thats a slow pork, see what I did there? But the DJ plays Latin beats and their beautiful patio is open in warmer months so you can definitely get your salsa on!

5. El Convent Rico
Probably one of the most fun clubs in Toronto for a number of reasons. El Convent Rico is a gay night club and their midnight drag shows are off the chain. The music is so live, you will honestly not even want to stop for a pee break to be honest. The lessons are full of enthusiasm and sass! This place holds a lot of bachelorette parties so even of you're not gay, chances to meet someone are still solid. Do I need say more??
6. Las Brisas Del Mar Nightclub
Beautiful decor, a designated smoking area, themed event nights, a spacious dance floor, and some rocking Latin top 40's to keep you on your feet all night. Drinks are reasonably priced and they're always doing some kind of giveaway. Over the years, many Local and International Latin artists have also graced the stage of Las Brisas Nightclub. Fridays and Saturdays are well packed but it is totally worth the trip up North.
7. Mana Bar & Lounge
Mana is located in the heart of little Italy in the downtown core. Mana was first opened in 2002 on College St. and Crawford and whether your planning a private event or bringing your friends out for the night, Mana is the place to party with its bumping tunes and cozy atmosphere. Brick walls maximize the sound quality while the candle light romanticizes and the Mediterranean blue colors cool your soul. Be sure to hit the club early to guarantee avoiding the line. Be prepared to get cultured! Every night of the week is a different nationality theme party. Their comfortable lounging area and open dance floor surrounded by brewing barrels will give you the authentic Latin bar atmosphere.
