The ROM Is Hosting A Boozy After Dark Party This Month That Will Transport You To Space
If you live around Toronto, chances are you've visited the ROM a few times. The museum boasts tons of fascinating exhibits that are always changing. From dinosaur bones to Egyptian mummies, you can experience all sorts of different worlds at this spot. The museum recently announced an exciting event series that allows you to explore the space in a whole new way. The ROM After Dark events will have themed pop-ups and boozy beverages.
This visit to the ROM won't be anything like your school trips.
ROM After Dark is a monthly after-hours event series filled with art, nature, immersive experiences, and food.
Similar to the Friday Night Live parties the establishment has held in the past, these events will take place in the evenings and welcomes guests aged 19+.
Four themed evenings have been announced so far. In January, the Lunar experience will be taking place, followed by Desire on Valentine's Day, and then Sisterhood and Woodland, which both happen in March.
The upcoming Lunar event is set for January 24. You can leave the world behind and travel into outer space at this cosmic adventure.
There will be a StarLab pop-up planetarium that will whisk you away into a celestial paradise of moon phases, eclipses and more.
A series of interstellar endeavours will greet you as you wander through the museum galleries.
In celebration of Lunar New Year’s Eve, the event will host live lion dances and Chinese fortune tellers.
You can learn about the traditions of Grandmother Moon from Indigenous storytellers and artists.
You'll be able to touch a real meteorite as well as view the sparkling winter sky through the outdoor telescopes.
Lunar music salons will be playing dance music all night long, and themed pop-up restaurants will offer some delicious treats.
No party is complete without drinks, and you can sip local wines and ciders, as well as a special ROM After Dark cocktail.
The event runs from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Tickets are available online, and admission is $30 per adult and $24 per student. A complimentary drink or food item is included in the price.
The ROM will also be hosting a much anticipated Winnie The Pooh exhibit in March, which is just another reason to visit the museum.
