San Antonio's Iconic River Walk Is Being Dyed A Stunning Emerald Green This Spring
Now that we're a few days into January, the next holiday we can all look forward to is Saint Patrick's Day. While some would say they're counting down the days until Valentine's Day, that's the kind of holiday that tends to make people feel excluded, whereas Saint Patty's is a day for all. The San Antonio River Walk is turning green for the holiday to make celebrating that much easier!
From Saturday, March 14 until Sunday, March 15, the San Antonio River Walk will be dyed green as a part of their Saint Patrick's Day festivities.
The green dye that's used will be totally eco-friendly to ensure no harm comes to our beloved river.
After just a tiny bit of exposure and enough boats to get the dye moving, the entire body of water is transformed into River Shannon.
If you didn't have any plans for Saint Patrick's Day before, well now you do!

The River Walk is a popular location even on non-holidays, especially for those simply visiting San Antonio.
If you're new to the city, it's important to know that this landmark holds many restaurants, shops, an entire mall, and is walking distance from much more.
So even if you get bored with the river on the 14th or 15th, which we don't think you will, there's still plenty to do for the rest of either day!
There'll be over two miles of seating that makes it able to watch the river turn greener and greener with a meal in front of you and a drink in hand.
Plus, a bagpiper will be playing his music for you to really set an Irish tone to things.

Possibly the best part about it all is that there's no fee required to enjoy the shamrock green river.
The River Walk is no stranger to hosting things like this, don't miss out on their lantern or mardi gras parades, both happening in February.
Be sure to wear as much green as you have in your closet, being near a green river won't save you from all the pinches!
