Canadians Are Petitioning For Shawn Mendes To Notice A Special Fan While He's In Toronto
While Shawn Mendes has been wandering around his hometown in anticipation of his concert in Toronto on Friday, residents of Kitchener, Ontario have been trying to get his attention. They're hoping to make a dream come true this weekend with a visit from the Canadian artist. A Kitchener care centre is petitioning for a meet and greet between Shawn Mendes and one of their patients.
Sunbeam Centre in Kitchener is trying to help out their patient Lisa. She purchased Shawn Mendes concert tickets for his hometown show last January, but after some disappointing news, she's no longer able to attend the concert. Lisa has struggled with chronic health issues her entire life and has had some heightened health problems that have prevented her from being able to attend the concert.
The care centre has put out a plea for help. In a Facebook post they wrote, "We are writing to ask for your help - please feel free to share this with anyone that you think might be able to help us." They go on to explain Lisa's predicament and ask for whatever help can be provided, "We are asking ANYONE, who might know ANYONE who can reach out to him for help to see if he would even be open to a Facetime chat with Lisa?"
The mayor of Kitchener has even gotten in on the campaign and quoted the centre's post on Twitter with, "Hey @ShawnMendes, @LiveNation, @LiveNationON, @Centre_Square, @eGp4u2c - @SunbeamCentre supports amazing people like Lisa - what do you say, can we help with this one, and help a special woman with a wish get back on her feet!"
Shawn Mendes has yet to respond to the request but Sunbeam did post an update on their Facebook page thanking everyone for the support and letting us know that Lisa has already been interviewed by CTV, radio stations, and other news outlets! Hopefully, if we all share around the post a little more Lisa will get her dream of even just a facetime call with Shawn Mendes!
