Here’s How You Can Still Buy Mickey Merch After All Of Canada’s Disney Stores Shut Forever
All Canadian Disney stores are closing down AND there's no Canadian website. 🥺
Goodbye, Mickey? All Disney Store locations across Canada are expected to be fully shut down this summer and there's even more bad news for those hoping to shop for magic merchandise online.
Last week, the shopDisney website confirmed that 10 more Canadian retail stores will be closing their doors permanently, as part of the company's wider plan to shutter all physical stores across Canada.
Disney stores across Alberta, Manitoba and Ontario will close around August 6, 2021, following the permanent closure of locations in B.C.
There are three remaining locations in the GTA with no official closing date, although these spots are also slated to close before the summer is over.
Is there a Disney Store website for Canada?
The closures will leave Canadian Disney fans with fewer options to get their Mickey fill, particularly as the Disney Store doesn't have a Canadian e-commerce operation.
Canadian shoppers are able to use the American shopDisney website to order, although items are sold in U.S. dollars and shipping costs to Canada may be higher. All related duty, tax and customs fees must also be covered by the buyer.
Additionally, not all items on the website may qualify for shipping to Canada.
If you were hoping to shop U.S. Disney Store locations when the U.S.-Canada land border reopens for non-essential travel, it's worth noting that Disney plans to close at least 60 stores across North America (approximately a third of all stores), which include some in the U.S.
