Your First Look At Shoppers Drug Mart's Official Cannabis Store Website In Ontario

A first look at the newcomer that's headed into the legal weed market!

Cannabis legalization in Ontario hasn't been smooth waters and clear skies, to say the least. Considering the amount of backlash that the OCS has been subject to since legalization day earlier in the year, it's safe to say that Ontarians have been pretty excited to welcome a newcomer to the legal market.

That newcomer is none other than Shoppers Drug Mart who will be acting as the official Canadian provider of medical cannabis across the country. According to the pharmacy's new website, Shoppers Drug Mart will soon be Ontario's "trusted source for medical cannabis from a variety of producers."

While the pharmacy was able to obtain approval back in September of this year, Shoppers only just recently obtained their license to sell cannabis. Since then, the pharmacy has been moving quickly to set everything in place in order to start their operations as soon as possible.

The current structure for the website will only allow people who have a sufficient prescription written by a doctor to actually order from the site. With regard to what the store will stock, Shoppers will offer everything from plants, dried and fresh flower, oil and seeds.

As of now, you can even take a look at the website, but don't get your hopes up for an exciting design to go hand in hand with the news of Shoppers getting approved. In fact, it seems Shoppers has somehow managed to make their website look even more boring than the OCS had earlier this year:

Then again, Shoppers Drug Mart does have the excuse of being a pharmacy when it comes to underwhelming design. Also meaning that no, you probably will not be finding a "Showdown Bong" or "Gandalf Pipe" on their website.

Of course, there is no set opening date just yet, but Canadians won't have to wait too long until they are able to access medical marijuana from their favourite pharmacy.

Unfortunately, for struggling OCS users, if you don't have a prescription, you'll have to continue to wait until brick and mortar stores finally start getting approved to escape their problematic service. That is unless your city gets turned into a "dry zone."
