This Brand New Show Filmed In Atlanta Is Basically A Real-Life Law & Order

The competition is too real.

Bravo is best-known for the juicy gossip in Real Housewives and Vanderpump Rules, but the celeb-centric channel is changing up the game a bit. A brand new Law & Order-inspired competition series takes a spot on the extensive list of shows filmed in Atlanta and it finally aired yesterday. The intense battle between rookie spies is rigorous to say the least.

Spy Games is an all-new, edge-of-your-seat twist on TV drama that premiered on Bravo yesterday (January 20). The show was filmed in and around Atlanta last year for six weeks and the first episode takes place at the popular (especially among stars) Midtown steakhouse, STK.

The competitive series stars newbie "spies" who face one another to complete challenges that could be compared to those at murder mystery parties. Except this version is more fierce with tests of survival that involve turning strangers into allies.

Although similar to Law & Order in the sense that contestants are collecting intel to crack a case, it's actually based on a real top secret WWII spy training program called "Station S."

Typically, all the actors and reality stars on Bravo shows push to gain as much attention as possible, but ironically enough, the stars of this series must try their hardest to avoid the lime light (they are spies, after all).

It may be all fun and games for viewers, but the competition is grave because the participants' performances are being judged by actual spy experts who previously worked for government agencies like CIA, FBI and Secret Service.

When we say the cast is full of newbies, we aren't using the term loosely. The lack of experience adds some extra fun because honestly, every show needs a little drama.

There was no shortage of it in last night's premier with a contestant who loves alcohol a little too much and one who decided this high-class scenario was a perfect call for a plank challenge.

There was also a male contestant who sparked verbal drama with a female cast member and it did not sit well with judges. Needless to say, the intense challenges create high stakes and even higher tension, so the drama is expected to heat up throughout the season.

If you missed Monday's premier, you can catch up with re-runs throughout the week and follow the rest of the season Monday nights at 10 p.m. on Bravo.
