Sobeys Is Recalling Chicken Salads And Sandwiches In Canada Due To Listeria Risk

There is a food investigation underway.

Certain salads and sandwiches from Sobeys Inc. have been recalled because of contaminated diced chicken that they may have been made with. The Sobeys food recall was announced by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) on October 2. There has been an outbreak investigation launched, but so far, there is no evidence that the products from Sobeys are associated with this outbreak. The chicken salad products have been sold in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. The Chicken and Bacon Caesar Tortilla wrap in question has only been sold in airports in Calgary and Edmonton at Hudson News stores.

The other products were sold at Sobeys, Safeway, and IGA stores in the previously mentioned provinces.

If you think you may have purchased tainted food, return it to the place where you purchased it, and go see a doctor immediately.

Food contaminated with listeria may not look or smell spoiled, but it can make you sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness. Pregnant people, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems are especially at risk.
