Someone Shot At Least 10 Bullets Into An Ontario Family's Home With Small Children Inside

A shooter targeted a Hamilton, Ontario family home with young children this weekend.

An Ontario family remains in a state of shock after their home was the target of a shooting over the weekend. A man unloaded at least ten bullets into the Hamilton, Ontario townhouse on Saturday, where children as young as three years old were residing. The bullets shattered the home's windows and pierced through the front door of the unit.

Thankfully, no one was injured during the shooting, which occurred in broad daylight around noon on Saturday. According to eyewitnesses, the shooter fled in an SUV which was parked conveniently close to where the crime took place.

When police arrived on the scene, they found a house riddled with bullets and at least ten holes punctured the house. Hawa Dini, the home’s owner, told CTV that she has seven children living with her in the house, making it a near miracle that no one was hit or worse during the shooting. Dini said that once they realized what was happening, Dini and family took cover in panic.

“When I [looked at] the door I saw the guy running away,” Dini told CTV reporters on that she had no idea why she and her family were targeted. Investigators gathered evidence from the scenes, but there have no been further updates on a potential suspect or motive.

Seemingly random shootings in Ontario have been on the rise lately. A tragic shooting in the Danforth cost the lives of two residents last year. One of the victims was a nine-year-old girl who was getting ice cream with her family when the shooter opened fire. The shooter’s exact motive was never discovered, as he shot himself after a short shootout with police.
