Fans Wrote A Song For BC's Health Officer & It's Just What We Need Right Now (VIDEO)

She deserves it.👏

The face of B.C.'s fight against COVID-19 has been working hard these past weeks and it's not going unnoticed. Fans wrote a song for Dr. Bonnie Henry and she deserves every second of it. Meanwhile, her fan club on Twitter is growing by the thousands.

One of the most popular fighters against the COVID-19 pandemic, Henry has not just admirers but an entire fanclub around her. Now she has an official theme song to match.

Sung to the tune of "Dear Theodosia" from Hamilton, "Dear Dr. Bonnie" was performed by Amy and Vicki, two women wearing matching plaid. Their YouTube video has gotten over 3,000 views since it was first uploaded on Tuesday, March 17.

Since the start of the outbreak, Henry has given daily news updates around COVID-19. Thousands tune in every day to hear her speak, and she's attracted heaps of praise in her work.

"We dedicate noon everyday to you / Sometimes it's three, and other times early," sang the song.

"When Trudeau's late then we have to wait, and it isn't great," they continue.

The massive fanclub on Twitter was created in early March but it's growing so fast amid the pandemic. It's already gained over 5,000 followers. That's 1,500 more than her actual account.

Canada's provincial health officers are being praised throughout the nation for their hard work and daily availability.

In Alberta, fans of provincial top doctor Dr. Deena Hinshaw cheered when she tested negative for COVID-19 after feeling cold-like symptoms.

Henry has led the charge in many of B.C.'s efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19. After declaring a public health emergency in B.C. on Tuesday, March 17, Henry now has the power to give verbal orders and have them enacted anywhere in the province, along with other new abilities.

Recently, Vancouver followed her lead and declared its own public health emergency.

We aren't sure if Henry's aware of the song yet, but hopefully, she'll hear it soon. Maybe it'll lighten up her day; she certainly deserves it.

Narcity reached out to the creators of the song, this article will be updated when we hear back.
