Due to a low-pressure system heading for the area, Ottawa may see their first measurable snowfall of the season. Typically, this might be exciting for early December. But, we haven't even reached Halloween yet!

Accumulated snow could reach anywhere from 2 to 5 centimetres. Areas along the American border could also see ice pellets. The system is anticipated to move in late Saturday and continue into Sunday morning.

According to Environment Canada, this system, in particular, is difficult to track and predict. Therefore, they aren't totally sure of the exact location the snow and ice will hit. However, they do expect that the conditions will have a significant impact on drivers and transportation.

With next week looking quite drizzly in the area, it doesn't seem like any accumulated snowfall will stick around too long. While a white Christmas is always nice, residents in Ottawa don't seem to down for a white Halloween.
