Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the majority of Southern Ontario. The high temperatures that we've been dealing with are going to be staying for the long weekend.
Sure, normally summer is pretty hot, but now the heat is naturally sitting in the mid-30-degrees Celsius range. The issue that's prompted the heat warning was the humidex raising even higher.
With humidex included the temperatures can creep into the 40-degrees Celsius range and being in the extreme heat for too long can be dangerous.

If you're going to be spending a lot of time outdoors or in the sun, be sure you're taking time to stay hydrated and protect yourself with sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses.
It's also important to remember that when it's this hot outside, cars heat up insanely inside. Don't leave pets or people in any locked vehicles because it's very unsafe.

Luckily a cold front will be coming through the province on Tuesday, so when everyone heads back to work after the long weekend there will be some relief.
