T&T Supermarkets In Canada Have A New 'Temperature Check Service' Before You Shop

But if you do have a fever, stay home.

Shopping at the grocery stores has been interesting, to say the least. From waiting in long lines and wearing masks to standing two metres apart, the difference a few months makes is big. Now, T&T Supermarkets' temperature check is the latest way that your weekly trip to the grocery store has changed.

The chain of stores announced on Friday, April 17 that they would be rolling out a "temperature check service" to their Canadian stores.

Starting on Monday, April 20, customers can now check their temperature before they go into the store to "protect the health and safety of our customers and employees," said a statement from T&T.

While the new temperature check screening is voluntary, they ask that if you have a fever to please stay home.

In B.C., their Surrey Central City Store has been doing the screening since April 9. Now, it's coming to their locations in B.C., Alberta, and Ontario.

The service is voluntary and will be available at most stores, reported Global News.

This is just the latest in a series of new measures that they've brought in during the pandemic including installing plexiglass at checkouts, closing all seating, and managing traffic into the store.

If you're wearing a face mask or face covering when you leave the house, make sure it's fitting properly.

And, of course, no speaking moistly when you're in the produce or frozen foods sections.

The store also has delivery options so you can get your T&T favourites right to your door.

For anyone who's ever run out of instant noodles, seaweed snacks, and prawn chips it's a life-saver.

T&T also recently donated one million masks to health care workers in B.C., Alberta and Ontario. The donation is just one way that the chain is adapting to the new reality we're all facing now.
